What is Biofeedback?

In Biofeedback, we use instruments, mostly computers, to painlessly measure and feedback changes to you through real-time feedback enabling you to enhance your ability to self-regulate your physiological functions.

We help you manage ongoing issues like manage stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, cardiac issues, sleep concerns, migraine, headache, and other related conditions. We also help you get the best from yourself so that you perform better at work, sport and life in general.

We help you measure your Heart Rate (HR), Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Sweat Response (GSR, EDA or SCL), Muscle Tension (sEMG), Breathing Patterns, Psychophysiological Stress Profile (PSP), and Key biofeedback and psychological metrics. You see such measures in real-time and learn how to change them in your favour, by altering the way you Think, Feel, Sit, Stand or Breathe.

In this way, the approach is both psychological and physiological.

Biofeedback Overview

Biofeedback is a technique that helps individuals gain greater awareness and control over their physiological responses to stress and other challenges. By using computer-based instruments to measure heart rate, muscle tension, sweat response, and breathing patterns, clients can learn to regulate their body’s reactions and improve their overall well-being. Biofeedback can be effective in addressing a range of conditions, from chronic pain and anxiety to sleep issues and cardiac concerns.

We use a brief therapy/training model. Expect a minimum of 12-18 weeks of sessions. This program includes:

This program focuses on individual sessions rather than groups, as research shows that one-on-one biofeedback is the most effective method. Please note, Biofeedback at Dublin Mind Clinic is not currently available for paediatric clients.
